We Will Lose

Conservatives, rightly want to fight back, but they don’t know who they are or what they are fighting for.

We will lose and we will continue to lose. Period. Now, before I freak everybody out, as if to lose my postmil bonafides, I need to clarify some things. When I say we will lose and we will continue to lose, I am not talking about a Johnny Mac definitive type of loss where ultimately we lose everything “down here.” It is the end times and everything is going to Hell in a hand basket and the best we can do is just sit back and hope to be raptured. No, no, no, that’s not at all what I am talking about.

What am I talking about then? This isn’t something that is exclusive to premillennial

eschatology. Many may want to point the finger at such, and no doubt, on some level, at least principally, you would have to concede that it is a contributing factor, at least theologically. However, this isn’t something that is exclusive to the premil’s (very few are actually theologically consistent), but this mentality permeates much, if not most of conservativism of all stripes.

That is, that conservatives, which is a massive and undefined tent, are reactionary. That is to say, they are always playing defense and not offense. Because of that, they will always lose, ten out of ten times, by definition. Some may say, “yes, but defense wins championships.” True, but only if they stump the opposing team’s offense, in order to play their own offense. Which is certainly, and indubitably not the case here.

Principally, the nature of conservativism is to say these are the things we are trying to conserve. These are the parameters of authority. This is permissible and this is not. Or, if you will, thus far and no farther. There are few laws, and these laws expand liberty. The kind of liberty that allows you to open a business and prosper, and not the kind of liberty that allows you to rape children.

That is, the type of strategy that conservatism, principally must be for, is an impeccable defense, that is, zero compromise, and an offense that clearly and categorically shuts down the enemy’s advance. Perhaps, Gandalf would say, “Thou shall not pass.” When conservatives enter into the equation willing to compromise, by definition, they’ve already lost. A series of small compromises over a long period of time puts us where we’re at today, like a defense that only gives up five yards every down, with an offense that advances nine yards for every three downs consistently.

All of this has created a mentality of reactionaryism. The left does something, well then, the right has to do their version of the same thing. But again, this is a strategy of failure ten out of ten times, because you are always reacting, which means the enemy is always scoring first. The conservatives are going to probe Hunter Biden (something I’m not sure the Biden family minds, but ok). First of all, everyone knows nothing will come of it. Second of all, everyone already knows that family is corrupt as hell and has been for good long time. Silly example, I know, but it illustrates how conservatives are always johnny come lately to the party.

The left makes ten movies celebrating pedophilia, well, we’ll release a movie exposing child trafficking. Is that wrong, no not at all, evil should be exposed and I think pedophiles should be put to death. But again, it illustrates that by the time conservatives actually do anything, the damage is already done and the left is on to the next play before conservatives even get in the game. The left controls banks. Well, we’ll create our own banks. The left has their forms of media. Well, we’ll create our own media. The left has their edgy, provocative songs celebrating every form of debauchery. Well, we’ll have our songs complaining about it three years later.

The left has their culture war. Well then, we’ll have our culture war. First of all, the left didn’t announce their culture war, they implemented their strategy of their long march through the institutions which took decades. If we say, “well, it worked for them, let’s do what they did to us.” It won’t work the same way for a multitude of reasons. One, you’ve announced your strategy to an enemy that is already deeply entrenched and very well-funded. How many decades and how many billions will it take to make them just a little less progressive?

Conservatives, rightly want to fight back, but they don’t know who they are and don’t know what they are fighting for. What are they trying to conserve? That’s a hard question to answer when your strategy is to simply let the progressives do whatever they want until you get really uncomfortable. When the vast majority of conservatives think having women lead them is liberating, that states should be able to rip babies apart if they choose to do that, that federalized education is a good thing, and that playing, hid the zucchini with other men is acceptable. But taxes totally suck. How could we possibly lose the culture war?

How will the department of education ever be dismantled when ninety percent of evangelicals send their kids to government schools? How will the IRS ever be dismantled when politicians on both sides of the coin see it as their meal ticket, and normal folk want their share of the government cookies as well? How will the church ever flex her muscles when she has already said, in advance, that the state is sovereign over her and can ravage her at will? How will the FBI or Homeland Security ever be dismantled, when most Americans live in a constant state of fear and believe that the government is still there to help them and the only way they can do that is by growing?

My point is, defense yes, but without offense it doesn’t much matter. And you can’t have an effective offense if you don’t know where the goal line is that you are advancing too. If that isn’t clearly defined principally, that is, unapologetically rooted in Christ, the end will always be chaos whether or not you feel bad about it, or whether or not you slowed the decent for a time. The end will be the same, and we will lose.

Yes, evil must be fought against. Yes, evil should be exposed and brought into the light. Yes, and we should have our songs and movies and alternative forms of banking and media and the like. I’m not poo pooing any of those things in principle. However, I’m saying the ring of power has to be thrown into the fires of Mordor and destroyed and a new King must be established.

The ring must be destroyed. If conservatives think they will do good with it when they hold it, we lose. Period. And the rightful King of all the earth must be declared and proclaimed, and all of the earth must be brought under His reign, principally, which means we open the door wide to all of the consequences that follow. Christ or chaos, those are the options, any compromise – we will lose, even if we call it something cool and edgy, like smash-mouth compromise.
